John Gatti, 84, of Louisville passed away December 30, 2011 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 4, 1927 in Sabino, Italy to the late Angelo G. and Francesca Gatti. Mr. Gatti was one of the principal partners of McDonald’s Restaurants of Greater Louisville. He was a dedicated and loving father, friend, and companion who never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Gatti Sr.; sister-in-law, Mildred Gatti; and his brother-in-law, Bruno Martino.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Pamela Gatti, Laura Gatti-Phillips and her husband, Ross and Maria Gatti-Coulter and her husband, Shawn; six grandchildren, Erin Riley, Devon Etherton, John Broadus, Jordan Phillips, Kelsey Phillips and Alyssa Polen; one great-granddaughter, Giada Etherton; his loving companion, Clarie Streible. Mr. Gatti is also survived by his brothers, Sam Gatti and Albert Gatti; and sisters, Antoinette Martino and Rose Sanders as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be conducted Tuesday January 3, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road with entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
