A devoted family man, he was a retired police officer for the old Jefferson County Police Department with over 28 years of service, former proprietor of Charity Hall Bingo, and had coached various sports for over 15 years. He also actively helped with fundraising efforts for various charities.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Bobbie Hooper Dizney; a daughter, Dorrie Dizney (Carmen); sons Jimmy Dizney, Jr. (Angie) and Jamie Dizney, Sr. (Margo); brother, Gary Dizney; sister, Joye Kane; grandchildren, Kamron, Corey, Alex, Chaila, Alexis, Jamie Jr, and Jadin; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Madison, and Avary.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2-6 pm Saturday at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, with a memorial service to follow at 6:00.
