Janis was a graduate of Waggener High School, worked several years for the Internal Revenue Service, US Post Office and various other jobs. She was most proud of serving alongside other volunteers working at the Hosparus Thrift Shoppe in Elizabethtown over the last few years. Outside of work, she enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, going to the beach, baking and she especially loved the holidays.
Janis fought her long battle with cancer with a courageous spirit and strong faith in the Lord. She never wavered in believing that God was her creator, provider and healer. Janis was a long time member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and in her later years, Southeast Christian Church. The family is eternally grateful for her oncologist, Dr. Geetha Joseph who provided excellent care for many years.
