Janet Marie Hellinger

Born on September 29, 1949, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late James and Geraldine Simpson.

Janet graduated from Loretta High School in 1968. As someone who put family above all else, she found her greatest happiness in the company of her beloved partner of 35 years, Mike Gee, and their blended family.

She was the cherished mother of James Hellinger (Leigh) and Brian Hellinger (Leslie). Janet's legacy also lives on through her adored grandchildren—Michael, Alexandra, Emma, Connor, Shane, and Tyler Boerste (Alessa) and her great grandchildren, TJ and Theo Boerste, will grow up knowing her love through cherished memories. As well the proud stepmother to Scott Gee (Marrita) and Wes Gee (Natalie) and their children and grandchildren.

She leaves behind her caring siblings Connie Morgan, Ted Simpson (Dee Dee), and Bette Gies (Billy), who alongside her, created a lifetime of memories.

Janet shared her passion for travel, affection for the beach, and the joys of gardening and canning with friends and family. Her kitchen was not only a place for cooking but also a warm hub where laughter and wisdom were served in equal measure.

To say that Janet was loving and kind might understate the boundless warmth she brought into the world. Her nurturing spirit ensured that anyone who knew her felt valued and cared for. She will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever cherished

A visitation for Janet will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218.The family will lay her to rest privately within Zachary Taylor National Cemetery.
