James O Jones

Reverend James O. Jones, age 87, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his heavenly father on Saturday, November 16, 2024. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Edward Jones and Mary (Fulkerson) Jones.

He was an electrician by trade and a skilled craftsman whose talents knew no boundaries. He was a current member of Knopp Avenue Holy Baptist Church. He was the former pastor of New Covenant Baptist Church for over 25 years. He was a man who believed in the power of prayer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 65 years Lottie (Stewart) Jones, three brothers and two sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters, Debra Bryan, Carrie Jones, Tammy Thomas (Jeff); seven grandchildren, James Michael, Krista, Jason (Bryna), Steven (Amanda), Matthew, Stephanie, and Patrick (Katey); five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and a loving church family.

Visitation will take place at Heady Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Ky. on Tuesday, November 26, from 1 pm to 8 pm. The funeral Service will be at the funeral home Wednesday, November 27, at 11 am. Visitation on Wednesday from 9am until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Bethany Cemetery.
