Stratton, James L. "Jim",84, passed away on March 24, 2016 in Louisville, KY. Jim was born on June 28, 1931 in Junction City, KY to the late James B. and Girtie B Stratton. A US Navy veteran with the rank of Petty Officer First Class, Jim was an instructor of aircraft carrier pilots. He was a graduate of Louisville Male HS and the University of Louisville (1965) having earned a degree in management and commerce as well as an associate degree in math. He was a computer systems analyst in the management information field, having served among other companies, Ernst and Ernst, RCA, Univac, and Bay Medical Center in Panama City, FL.
Jim also was a scout cubmaster, a volunteer with the Louisville public school neighborhood boards and various youth groups, and a past member of Kenwood Optimist Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Bonnie A. Waters Stratton, his children, Timothy L. (Suki), James R. (Donna), Terry Cook (Phil), and Cathy Henn (John), their mother, Colleen Stratton, step-children, David L. Jones (Vicki), and Robyn L. Daugherty, and a niece, Lori Chilton (Steve), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday at noon at Evergreen Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00pm-8:00pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery following the service.
