

James proudly served his country as a Marine during the Korean War before dedicating 28 years of his life to the Louisville Metro Police Department. His innate sense of duty later led him to serve as a lieutenant for Louisville International Airport for over a decade. He personified commitment and bravery, contributing heavily to the safety and well-being of his community.
A 1986 graduate of the University of Louisville where he achieved his bachelor’s degree. The University's football games were a cherished pastime, James enjoyed every opportunity to cheer on his team alongside his son, Chris Clemerson.
James was preceded by his devoted parents, Frank Sr. and Lorena Clemerson; his loving wife, Anita Clemerson; and cherished siblings, Frank Clemerson Jr., William Clemerson, Betty Rose, Connie Bain, and Kitty Schildknecht. His legacy of kindness and tenacity lives on through his son Chris, his brother Harold Clemerson, and a host of nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
James will be remembered and loved by all those that knew him.
A visitation for James will be held Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218. A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to FOP.
