Jackie was born on September 5, 1960, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Bill and Doris Frost. She graduated from Durrett High School in 1978 and went on to receive her Bachelor’s (‘82) and MBA (‘85) in Elementary Education from Eastern Kentucky University. She was a proud and dedicated EKU alumni, always supporting her Colonels at every homecoming game since her graduation in 1982. She taught in Kentucky for 33 years, 30 of those in JCPS, retiring from Audubon Traditional Elementary School in 2016.
Jackie, a devoted Christian, was actively involved in church life since she was a child attending Trinity United Church of Christ, Zion Church, and most recently Redeemer Presbyterian Church, all of Louisville. She developed many treasured friendships within her church family and enjoyed volunteering, and at one time, teaching Sunday school.
Jackie loved crafting and confectionary art, often entering her creations into the KY State Fair. She enjoyed traveling with friends and was always up for a new adventure! She went to the YMCA for Water Aerobics every Tuesday, and could be found volunteering at Baptist Hospital two days every week at the flower desk and the daycare unit. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Left behind to cherish Jackie's memory are her beloved cousins in North Carolina (Kearns) and Tennessee (Frost). Lifelong friends, Debbie Thornsberry (Leanna and Casey Thornsberry, and Sherri Williams), David Bringer (Vicki, Nicole , Noah), David Lee Bringer (Godson), and a multitude of cherished friends, church family, teachers, and students.
Jackie touched the hearts of all who met her and never met a stranger. She was a warm, gentle, and giving soul, whom will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
