Jacob Keith Rice, 62, passed away Monday, March 4, 2019. Keith married the love of his life Arlene “Shy” Boehnlein Rice on May 10, 1974. Keith and Shy met in third grade at Prestonia Elementary and he was her neighborhood paperboy of Farmdale. They dated in high school and then were married at seventeen years old. He served proudly in the United States Navy and was a veteran of Desert Storm. Once discharged, he continued with the government working at Louisville Naval Ordinance Station, which is now BAE Systems, spending forty years with the plant. At the time of his death, he was one of BAE Systems Assembly Manufacturing Managers. He loved, loved, loved to cook, bake, camp, boat, spend time at the ocean and beach. At one time in his life he boxed in the Golden Gloves. His nicknames were known as “Jake the Snake” “Rat Boy” and “The Hammer”.
He is preceded in death by his beautiful son, Gabriel Stephan; grandchild, Baby Kelly; father, John Jacob; and mother, Elizabeth Louise.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Arlene; his children, Dana Rachel Parker (Dennis), Jacob Anthony Rice, Lindsay Michele Rice (Terry Kelly); grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Emily, Shaylynn, bonus grandchild, Taylor Belle; siblings, John “Pogo” Rice (Bonnie), Timothy Rice (Michelle), Lori Daugherty (Mark); many nieces and nephews; and best friend, Tony Stich (Dee Dee).
The visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 4:30-6:30 pm at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow.
