Glen volunteered as a Junior Firefighter in high school, and continued volunteering as a Firefighter for several years after graduating. He was an Avid UK fan, enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. Glen was such a loving husband, father, papaw, great-grandpa, and uncle.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Ruth and Earl Finley, Raymond and May Slater; great-niece, Kaylan Dowell; sister, Jackie Brooks; brother-in-law, Roger Williams; sister-in-law, Jennifer Adams; and mother-in-law, Martha Adams.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 44 years, Jessie Finley; daughter, Beth Herald and Jack; like daughter, Becky Martin (Gary); like son, Joey Saylor (Amanda); grandchildren, Emily, Zack, Hunter, Chad, Grayson; great-grandchild, Dominic; siblings, Chris Finley, Robin Doyle; nieces, Kim (Nate), Erin (Becca), Lisa, Angie, Cindy, Hannah, Lauren, Megan, Amanda, Christina; nephews, Tim (Shelly), Steven, Tyler, Scott, Brian; great-nieces, Chloe, Sky, Charlotte, Hailey; great-nephews, JBug, Wyatt, Gabe, Blake, Jackson, Will, Jacob; sister-in-laws, Marguerite Williams, Ruth Ellis (Timmy); brother-in-laws, Steve Adams, Estel Adams; and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 4pm - 8pm at Advantage Funeral Home - Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11am with a burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to Glens services.
