Francis Eugene Sutton

Gene graduated from St. Xavier High School and attended U of L for 4 years. As a young man he was a crackerjack athlete and was adept at any task he undertook. His perseverance in facing adversity was noteworthy. He was an excellent racehorse handicapper which continued a family tradition.

He was born April 24, 1958 and was the oldest son of John S. Sutton Jr. and Doris J. Sutton. Gene is survived by his parents, sister Deborah A. Sims, who along with his mother, cared for him and showed their love and devotion over the years, with assistance from niece, Amber D. Sims and nephew Brandon M. Sims. He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas G. Sutton.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 7th, at 2 PM at The Chapel of Faith in Resthaven Memorial Park. Gene will be entombed at Resthaven Memorial Park directly following the service. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on the memorial page. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Hospital or Salvation Army.
