Francis John Hartlage was born in Louisville Kentucky. Frank grew up on a family farm, where he attended grade school at St Dennis. He attended high school at Flaget, graduating second in his class in 1951. While at Flaget, Frank played shortstop on the baseball team and was team captain. Frank worked at General Electric for more than 40 years, starting out as a tool and die apprentice, and working his way into purchasing, where he spent most of his career. He was a Kentucky Colonel and an avid fan of the Dodgers, the Louisville Cardinals, and Notre Dame. He enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family. Frank is probably best known for his quick wit and entertaining sense of humor, which ranged from corny jokes to puns and zingy one-liners. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will be missed by all those who knew him.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Valentine and Rosalia Hartlage, his first wife, Mary Lou, siblings Ted, Joe, Junie, Millie Riplinger, and Eddie, and a grandchild, Michelle Hartlage.
