Born on January 18, 1922 in Bloomfield, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the lates’ Froman Neal & Nancy Tong. Emma Lou was a graduate of the Spencerian College of Business, where she obtained an Associate’s Degree in Business / Accounting. For over 45 years, she was an administrative assistant for Southern Optical. Emma Lou was a charter member of the Trinity Temple for over 50 years & also the St. Mark Methodist Church. She loved flowers, to garden & had an appetite for sweets. Her church always held a special place in her heart. Emma Lou lived a full life, a life well lived.
Her parents, Froman & Nancy Neal; brother & sister, John R. Neal, Sr. & Dorothy Hayden; niece & nephew, Barbara Aubrey & John R. Neal, Jr.; & husbands, John Dodds & Billy Green, precede Emma Lou in her passing.
Left to cherish her memory is her step-daughter, Mary Lynn Johnson; plus, a host of other extended relatives, friends & family to mourn her passing.
In lieu of customary expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions can be made to the Kentucky United Methodist Children's Homes in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dignity Chapel of the Evergreen Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Maple Garden of the Evergreen Cemetery & Garden Mausoleums, where she will rest for eternity alongside her first husband, John Dodds. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. also at the Evergreen Funeral Home.
