Edward Briggs Phelps Jr.

Edward was a devoted family man, who loved his spouse, children, and grandchildren above everything else. His sense of humor, kindness, laughter, and storytelling made him a cherished and loyal friend to many, especially his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Phelps; and his parents, Edward Phelps Sr. and Natalie Phelps. He is survived by his 6 children, Kim Phelps(Tommy), Eddie Phelps(Barbara), Gary Phelps(Robin), Rodger Phelps(Jill), Shaylynn Grant(Nick), and Danyell Phelps; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph Phelps(Lois) and Ronald Phelps(Tammy); sister, Debbie White(Jimmy); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Evergreen Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 3pm-8pm Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s memory can be made to apdaparkinson.org. Edward will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live forever through his family and friends.
