Douglas Dean "Hammer" Ketzenberg, 79, of Louisville, entered into eternal rest on June 14, 2024. Douglas was a very hardworking, honest, loyal man. He was very active in his family's life and the community. He was a devout Catholic and he enjoyed training linemen and EMT's. He was a country boy at heart and touched so many lives in his time on Earth.
Douglas was retired from LG&E, Team Fishel, and American Red Cross. He was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Lifesavers Inc., and American Legion Post 244. He was an Army veteran, a board member of Louisville D.A.D.S., which is an affiliate of Downs Syndrome of Louisville, and a judge of the International Lineman's Rodeo.
Douglas was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Marie Ketzenberg; parents, Victor and Florence Ketzenberg; brothers, William Ketzenberg and Victor Ketzenberg; and sister, Judy Ketzenberg. He is survived by his children, John Ketzenberg(Tracy), Jennefer McClellan(Richard), and Melinda Anderson(Steve Cannon); grandchildren, Cody Bartley, Alexis Lanham(Justin), Christina Woosley, Landon McClellan, Autumn Araujo(Aaron), Allie Boren, Eli McClellan, Grant Woosley, and Grace Hardin; great-grandchildren, Aspen Lanham, Amelia Araujo, and Jayden Lanham; brothers, Rob Ketzenberg and his family and Gene Ketzenberg and his family; nephew, Tony Beach and daughters; niece, Arica Wuetcher(Ken); Billie Joe Crady and family; and many other nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4005 Dixie Highway Louisville, KY. Visitation will be 3pm-8pm Thursday at Evergreen Funeral Home. Memorial donations in Douglas's memory can be made to American Red Cross.
