Born to the late Fred Perry and Iviedell Crowder Perry, Donald is also preceded in passing by his wife of 52 years, JoAnn Beasley Perry; brother James Perry. Here to carry on his memory are his sons Don Perry and Robert Perry (Janelle); his grandchildren Bailey McCurdy and Madison Stepp; his great-grandchildren Ashlynn, Brayleigh, and Nora; his siblings Jean Brown, Freddie Perry (Millie), Jerry Perry (Maxine), Faye Spears (James); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Donald retired from K.I. Railroad. He enjoyed tinkering with his cars and tending to his garden, especially his famous tomato plants. Donald was fiercely independent up until early this year, making it a point to continue to shovel his own driveway, cut his own grass, and cut the grass of his neighbors and loved ones. Donald will be remembered as a hardworking man who provided endlessly for his family.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 26, 2021, from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A funeral service in Donald’s honor will take place at 12:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home. Donald will be laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park at a later date.
