He finished his journey that God set before him, loving his family as only a God-filled man can, and living out his life as a precious example of the love of Christ in action.
Don was born to the late Elbert Sr. and Barbara Jones. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara. Children: Rhonda (Jeff) Stutz and Donald Todd (Mindy) Jones. Grandchildren: Mandy (Dustin) Flannery, Eric (Lindsey) Stutz, Megan Jones, Donald Tyler Jones, and four great grandchildren; Bryce and Braxton Flannery, and Easton and Lachlan Stutz. He is also survived by five siblings; Loretta Johnston, Sharon Brake, Phyllis Wilcoxen, Larry (Sharon) Jones, and Dennis (Paula) Jones. Preceded in death by five siblings; Cledith Gross, Darlene Daugherty, Elbert Jones Jr., Ronald Jones, and Sue Mercer.
Don loved to talk on the phone with family and friends. He loved all kinds of food and getting together with family. He loved to read and study all kinds of subjects; especially the Bible. After retiring from Sohio / BP after 30 years, he enjoyed living on the lake in Georgia and then moving to Louisville to be closer to his family.
The service and entombment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery Chapel on Friday, December 20th, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Due to limited space in the chapel, we kindly ask that only immediate and extended family attend.
