Cindy was born and raised in Louisville. She worked for Mothers Cookies for 26 years. She was very passionate about taking care of others in need; even the stray fur babies. She loved with all of her heart and soul. She enjoyed the horses, music, sports, cooking, gardening, and crafts.
Cindy is preceded in death by her daughter Amanda Blake Cottrell. Her parents Herbie Knecht Jr. and Jackie Knecht, brother Herbie Knecht III., and sister-in-law Barbara Oheher.
She is survived by her husband Mike L. Cottrell, her step daughter, Tracy Cottrell, Sister Julie Portnoy, and sister-in-law Debbie Cottrell Snow (Jimmy), Leann Cottrell Burton (David). Her most loving granddaughter, Tiffany Leister, grandsons Derrick Vincent, Michael Church, Leo, and Silas, and six great grandchildren. A host of nieces and nephews; Tara Knecht Beam (Tony), Buck Knecht, and Cameron Portnoy, Justin Snow, Nina Snow (Jeff), Paul Snow (Naomi), Gerri Ann Reynolds, Marlane Reynolds, Donna McClane, Janie Dennison. Along with a host of many friends including her three best friends Tammy, Janice and Alesia.
A visitation for Cynthia will be held Monday, July 17, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 9:30 AM, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40218.
