Charlie was born on April 23, 1936 in Louisville, KY, he was the son of Mamie Raggard Kaufman and Ben H. Kaufman. He was a graduate of Valley High School.
Charlie served in the United States Army in Korea, and was retired from Ford Motor Company. He married his high school sweetheart Dolores Terry, they had 62 wonderful years of marriage together. Charlie and Dolores were longtime members of Beechland Baptist Church.
He was an avid HAM-radio operator, golfer, UK basketball fan and loved to travel. Most of all, he enjoyed being with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Leonard Kaufman and James C. Kaufman, and sister, Mary Belle Tabor.
He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver Dolores, daughters; Lisa Singerman (John), and Vicki Crowner (Mark), his grandchildren; John Crowner, Anne Crowner, Andrew Singerman, Chris Singerman (Cate), Kevin Singerman (Alyssa) and his great-grandchildren Cole and Cooper Singerman.
The family would like to thank the sweet caregivers at O’Daniel House at Masonic Home and the Hosparus team for all of their work this past month.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 10th from noon until 2:00 pm at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Hwy, with service to follow at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens.
