Brenda Shelton

Brenda Shelton, age 78, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023. Brenda was born in McClean County, KY the daughter of the late E.E. “Cub” and Lottie James Revlett. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Margie Hogan and Eunice Donahoo, and younger brother John Henry Revlett.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Shelton, their two children: Kevin Shelton (Kim) and Karen Thomas (Aaron); and four grandchildren Rachel Pollack (Alex), Zachary Shelton, Daniel Thomas, and Kelsey Thomas. She is also survived by her brother Gene Revlett and many nieces and nephews.

Born on a farm in rural Western Kentucky, Brenda moved to Chicago after graduating high school and getting married. She and James also lived in Washington State and ultimately settled in Louisville where they raised their family. Brenda was an avid traveler, visiting all 50 states, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Her love, kindness, and strength of spirit will forever be etched in our hearts.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Louisville East Post Acute Care for the loving care Brenda received.

Funeral Service will be at 2 PM on Thursday, July 13, 2023 in the funeral home chapel of Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Funeral Home (4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40218). A visitation will be held from 11 AM until the service time of 2 PM on Thursday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Jeffersontown Christian Church (16031 Taylorsville Rd., Jeffersontown, KY 40299) or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
