Born to the late George and Jannie Riggs, Ben is also preceded in passing by his brother, Estin Gadberry. Here to carry on his memory is his adoring wife of 37 years, Sherry Riggs; their children Michele Powell (Michael) and Christopher Riggs; grandchildren Steffie (Josh), Justen, Destinee, Zoe, Michael, and Waylen; his great-grandbaby Serenity Hope; his siblings Charles Riggs (Gloria), Eric Riggs (Rhonda), Keith Riggs, Ernie Riggs, and Generose Elder (Rick); and a host of extended family.
Ben was a Navy veteran and went on to work for UPS as an aircraft mechanic. He enjoyed spending his time tinkering with his cars and keeping up with his garden. He adored his children, grandchildren, and fur babies. He held the title Dad and Gpa proudly, and leaves behind countless memories for his family to cherish.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road. A funeral service in Ben’s honor will take place at 12:00 PM on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Transplant Foundation.
