Martinez, Antonio Cortez “Tony”, 92, entered into eternal rest with his family by his side June 30, 2015. Tony was retired from the United States Army after 22 years. He served in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War, and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge with Oak Leaf clusters and 2 stars. He also retired from General Electric in Louisville after 10 years and was a member of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 43 years, Dorothy Martinez; son, Daniel Martinez (Susie) of Melbourne, FL; 2 step-daughters, Susan Bott (Bruce) and Carol Knorpp (Ron), both of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Stacey Martinez (Stewart Iglehart), Stephen Martinez (Jennifer), Ryan Martinez, Anthony Martinez; step-grandchild, Aaron Bott; and a host of nieces and nephews from Houston, TX.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday at 10am at Evergreen Dignity Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday from 2pm-8pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
