Lee graduated from Tenaha High School Lee and then served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church where he also faithfully served the church and congregation for 33 years. Lee loved fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Ray Simmons and his sisters, Hazel Darlene and Sue Gail.
Lee is survived by his loving family including his wife, Zoila Simmons; sons, William Glenn Simmons, Michael Wayne Simmons and wife Darlyne, Troy Lee Simmons; daughter, Jeannie Lorraine Trussell and husband Charles, Sr.; stepsons, Stanley Herrera and wife Loni, Ernesto Herrera and wife Rachael, Walter Herrera and wife Gracie, Joshua Herrera and wife Maria; stepdaughter, Roxana Herrera; sister, Linda Carol Garrett; 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Simmons, Charles Trussell, Sr., Stanley Herrera, Ernesto Herrera, Walter Herrera and Joshua Herrera.
