Ramona Gladine Clements, 93 of Longview, Texas was born September 14, 1929 in Hosston, Louisiana and passed away Sunday July 23, 2023 after a short illness. Her daughter and son-in-law were with her during her final moments of life. Gladine was hospitalized at Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview, Texas.
Gladine attended Cosmetology School and worked as a beautician several years and then worked for the U.S Postal Service in Waskom, Texas. After moving to Longview, She attended Kilgore College to acquire her Real Estate-Broker License. She retired after 20 years as a realtor/broker. Gladine was member of the Pine Tree Church of Christ on Longview, Texas. She served in the Caring and Sharing ministry of the church and made personal visits to the sick and nursing home residents. She also would prepare food for those in need. She was a warm, caring and loving Christian woman. Gladine loved to play "42" with the "42" group at the church building every Tuesday and Rummikub on Fridays with the ladies from church. She had a standing hair appointment each week and loved driving her RED Lincoln everywhere, even to the mailbox by her house. She had a zest for life, for having fun, and learning new things. She enjoyed family gatherings celebrating birthdays, Christmas, and other holidays. She could have been a doctor, but there was not enough funds to attend medical school.
Gladine Clements was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Gaynelle Crow of Linden, Texas, her six sisters and a brother, her husband, Donald P. Clements of 62 years and a son, Keith Clements. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Shaver and husband Roger Shaver of Sugar Land, Texas, grandchildren Ginger Haug and husband Eric Haug of Magnolia, Texas, Rusty Shaver of Magnolia,texas and great-grandsons Dustin Shaver and Dillon Shaver of Littleton, Colorado, brother-in-law Rodney Clements of Houston, Texas and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, family and many friends.
The Shaver family would like to give special thanks to the Good Shepherd Hospital doctors and nurses who cared for her in her final days of life. Also, gratitude to her neighbors who offered special help to her and many visitors who came to see her.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday July 27, 2023 at Lakeview Funeral Home, West Harrison Road, Longview, Texas. Viewing/ visitation will be on the same day from 1:00pm to 2:30pm. The funeral will follow at 2:30pm. Interment will be at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
