SFC Grady M. Tallant Ret.

U.S Army Retired, 5/20/1930 – 4/28/13. Born in Jack County, and raised in, Waurika, Oklahoma. He joined the U.S. Army, in 1948, and served in Korea, Europe, and Vietnam. He met Andrea Carmichael in England. They were married in Oklahoma, on May 6, 1953. He retired from active duty, in 1968. After which, he taught Jr. ROTC, at Longview High School for 10 years.

Mr. Tallant, was a member of Winterfield United Methodist Church, and Alcoholics Anonymous, for over 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel Parr Tallant, and his two sisters, Lucille Crutcher, and Floye Michael.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea; daughters Diana King (Bob) of Quitman; Kim Kinch (Tim), of Hallsville; grandson Troy Kinch (Linzie Davis), of Longview; granddaughters, Deborah Hampton, (Kent), of Garland; Melissa Hunter, (Bert), of Rockwall; Shelley Scott, (Troy), of Concord, North Carolina; great grandchildren, Kaleigh and Ryan Hampton; Alexa, and Willow Scott, Henry and Robby Hunter, and Blaine Kinch.

Services will be held at, Lakeview Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The family will receive friends from, 6:00- 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made, to the Humane Society of Northeast Texas.
