Dorothy Erickson

Dorothy Elizabeth Erickson, age 91, of Longview TX, formerly of W. St. Paul, MN, passed away on September 25, 2022, at Heartis Longview Assisted Living. Dorothy was born on July 15, 1931 in St. Paul, MN to Eric and Martha Kempe.

Dorothy was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene. She worked many years as a bank teller before her retirement. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Donald L. Erickson and her sister, June Ristrom. Dorothy is survived by her five children: Ronald (Karen), Connie Quirk (Pat), Gary (Laurie), David, Shari Hendrick (Mark) in addition to her brother Dick (Lori), brother-in-law Burt Ristrom, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and relatives in Sweden. “Grandma Dorothy” enjoyed playing “Swedish Eight”, watching game shows, eating chocolate, and visiting with her family, especially the little ones. She will be interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a future date. A memorial service will be held on November 25, 2022, at 3 PM, at the Faithbrook Church of the Nazarene (14100 Elm Creek Rd., Dayton, MN 55369). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org).
