Bobby Ray Wright, 78, of Longview passed away December 19, 2018 in Longview. He was born August 15, 1940 in Marshall, TX to Obie and Thelma Wright. Bobby graduated high school in Santa Fe, NM, and soon after married the love of his life, Martha Sue York and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Bobby loved his lord, his church and his family. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and watching them being involved in whichever sport was in season at the time. He loved spending time with his family, going camping and to Branson. He retired from Frito-Lay in 2002, after over 30 years in route sales. He is a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Longview.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marti Wright of Longview; sons: Russell Wright and his wife Nannette of Ore City, TX and Brant Wright and his wife Tonya of Edgewood, TX; grandsons: Garrett Wright and his wife Makayla of Ferris, TX and Carson Wright of Edgewood, TX; sister: Helen Bush of Ft. Worth; as well as a number of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, an infant sister, and his granddaughter: Adeline.
A service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church in Longview, with Rev. Donnie Barron officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are: Ronnie Hinkle, Gary Smith, Chuck Hayes, Steve Watson, Tim Grant, Bob Tucker, Garrett Wright and Carson Wright. There will be a time to visit with his family before the services from 10 until service time at the church. His family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Bobby’s name to Calvary Baptist Church, 4715 Tenneryville Road, Longview, TX 75604.
