Walter Arnold Miller

Walter was born on January 20, 1930, in Denver, CO to Edward Ferdinand and Edna Genevive (Olson) Miller. When he was three years old the family moved to a farm in Weskan, Kansas where he grew up. He graduated from Weskan High School in 1947 and attended Business College in Colorado Springs.

Walter honorably served in the United States Army before being discharged as a Private 2nd Class.

On June 13, 1964, he married Mary Rose Herrera. Walter worked for Meadow Gold Dairies for 34 years; first in Colorado Springs and then transferring to Denver. His claim to fame happened when he met Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy’s, and helped to create the first “Frosty” in Denver, which was chocolate.

Walter attended St. Mark Catholic Church in Westminster and in his younger years Bethany Lutheran Church in Weskan, Kansas. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Iver C. Ranum Quarterback Club and was President of the Perl Mack Association in Adams County, Colorado.

In his free time Walter enjoyed bowling, golf, camping, fishing, singing in the St. Mark’s Choir, being involved with the Parish Council at St. Mark, serving as the head usher for Sunday services and spending time with his family and grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Dean and Billy and his sisters Lorraine Morgan, Margaret Gauss, and Evelyn Okeson

Walter is survived by his wife Mary Rose (Herrera) Miller; his children Ken Miller, Teresa (Jeff) Thompson, Kathi (Doug) Miracle and Laura (Tracy) McConnell; his grandchildren Paul Badowski, Michael Elliott, Ryan Elliott, Brayden Miracle, and Alexis Chandler; and his great-grandchildren Daphne, Alayla, Emily and Lily Badowski.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday November 10th, 2022, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Westminster. Burial with military honors will take place at 2:15 p.m. Thursday November 10th, 2022, at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
