Sheila O'Connell O'Grady

Sheila was born on June 8, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to Daniel and Sheila (Nagle) O’Connell. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University where she obtained her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Special Education.

She taught at John F. Kennedy High School in Taylor, Michigan and the W.J. Maxey Boys Training School; where she was proud to have had the highest graduation rate. Sheila was also very proud of her three sons, two granddaughters and great-grandson.

In her free time Sheila enjoyed reading, bible studies, volunteering at church and going out with friends. She loved being Irish and Catholic and was a committed educator, devoted mother, loving grandmother and fantastic great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her son Terry.

Sheila is survived by her children Mark and Patrick (Ali); her grandchildren Mollie and Mairin and her great-grandson Arthur.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-5:30 pm with Rosary Prayers beginning at 5:30 pm on Monday May 13, 2024 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday May 14, 2024 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sheila O’Grady memorial fund.
