He was born in Portsmouth, Va. on December 20, 1978, but moved with his family to Longmont in 1980.
He attended Tiny Tim Developmental Preschool, Mountain View Elementary, and graduated from Skyline High School. Currently, he was attending CORE.
He had volunteered at Longmont Humane Society as a puppy cuddler, for the Salvation Army as a Holiday bell ringer, and for the Northern Colorado Alzheimer Association as a wheelchair rider in honor of his Grandmother, Caroline Bartram.
Nathan loved swimming. He was free to move in the water without the constraint of his cerebral palsy. He also loved all kinds of music: Tex-Mex, pop, and children’s. The louder the music, the better. He attended many concerts over the years. He loved to play the piano, and had an African drum he banged. He especially enjoyed Elton John’s piano playing. He was a good bowler, who regularly beat his friends. Nathan was a people watcher, even at the zoo. He was friendly and would hold hands with anyone who offered theirs. He was well known in the Longmont and Boulder communities, and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his parents, brother, Gary Charles, and his wife, Christine, of Hamlet, N.C., and Aunts and Uncles and cousins around the country.
A Memorial is being planned for Saturday, October 10 via ZOOM. If you want to attend the Memorial, leave your name and phone number or email in the condolence section of the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel website.
