Lawrence Ortiz

Lawrence Ortiz, age 65, of Longmont, Colorado passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. He was born March 31, 1959 in Boulder, Colorado to Inez (Mireles) and Joseph Ortiz, Sr. He lived in Longmont most of his life.

Lawrence was first married to Betty Morales and then later to Debra Lynn Barry. He was electronically inclined and worked in different trades throughout his life, with construction being one of them.

Foursquare Church of Longmont was where he practiced his faith and then became a born again Christian on his death bed.

Lawrence enjoyed building model cars, physically working on cars and eating. He also liked spending time with friends and family, watching a good movie and jamming out to some oldies, at full blast. In his younger years he also enjoyed lifting weights.

Surviving are his former wives Betty Morales of Austin, TX and Debra Lynn Barry of Sterling, CO, his sons Larry Ortiz of Austin TX, Toby Ortiz of Longmont, CO, Paul Ortiz, Adrian Ortiz and Travis Ortiz of Sterling, CO and his daughters Betty Ann Gutierrez of Austin, TX, Inez Ortiz of Longmont, CO, Angelina Ortiz of Salina, KS and Trina Ortiz of Sterling, CO. He is further survived by his mother Inez Mireles Ortiz of Longmont, CO, his brother Joe Ortiz, Jr of Longmont, CO and his sisters Isabel Ortiz, Jane Ortiz, Mary Ortiz and Rachel Ortiz all of Longmont and 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph Ortiz, Sr. his brother Tiofilo Ortiz and one grandchild.

A visitation for Lawrence will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. A funeral service will begin promptly at 11:45 AM. A graveside committal will follow at 1:00 PM at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery, 620 11th Avenue, Longmont, Colorado 80501.
