James Martin Oliveira

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Martin Oliveira on September 22, 2022. Jim was born on May 19, 1952 in Fritzlar, Germany to Edward Oliveira and Ann Banville. Jim grew up on the East coast and served in the Navy prior to meeting his wife, Geri, and moving to Colorado from the Bay area in 1984. In 2007 Jim retired from IBM. Jim and Geri lived in the mountains above Boulder for over 30 years before recently settling in Longmont.

Jim will be remembered for his love of music, travel and spending time with friends and family. Anyone who knew Jim, knows that his favorite thing in life, by far, was being by Geri’s side.

Jim was proceeded in death by his parents Edward Oliveira and Ann Banville.

Jim is survived by his wife of 41 wonderful years, Geri; his children, Paula (Spencer) Hepp, Jenny Oliveira (Chad) Getting, Christopher (Kimberly) Oliveira; his grandchildren, Taylor (Adrianna), Tristan (Brittany), Logan and Halle; and his great grandchildren, Lincoln, Lacey and Brynlee. Jim also leaves behind his siblings Walter Oliveira, Raymond Oliveira and Nikki Carreiro and Stepmother Peg Oliveira along with numerous family members and more friends than can be counted.

A private family celebration of life will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Foundation or a reputable local Nonprofit in your area working in Substance use treatment or recovery support services in Jim’s name.
