James Vincent Cely

He graduated from Clemson University in Clemson S.C. in 1965 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In June of 1965 he and his wife Sharon Lankford Cely moved to Lexington, Kentucky to begin his IBM career. The family moved to Berlin, Germany in 1973 for a 1-year assignment. After returning to Kentucky, he then moved to Longmont, Colorado in 1975. In 1990 another move took him to Tucson, Arizona where he retired in 1995. He returned to Longmont in 1995 to work until retiring again from Storage Technologies in 2002.

Jim was a member of Westview Presbyterian Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother Jerry Scott Cely.

Jim is survived by his wife Sharon; son Jeff (Penny); daughter Jill (Gabe Glinsky) and his sister June Lancaster (Jim).

A celebration of life for Jim will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, at 3:30 PM at Westview Presbyterian Church, 1500 Hover Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501, followed by a reception at 4:30 PM.

Cremation is entrusted to Howe Mortuary & Crematory of Longmont, Colorado.
