Freida Katherine Cox

Freida Katherine Cox (Deivert) was born in Sunbury, PA, the ninth of ten children. She raised her four children – Roger, Gerald “Jake,” Jeff, and Kathy Hallock – in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania before relocating to Colorado in the 1970s.

While in Colorado she worked for the State of Colorado CDLE, helping many folks find jobs within the Boulder area. Later she worked for NeoData in Human Resources before her retirement.

Freida had many great friends who shared her love of dancing, and as a group they spent several nights each week enjoying senior dances anywhere from Denver to Fort Collins, with many happy evenings spent at the Longmont Senior Center.

She is survived by her children – Roger Hallock (Rosedale, MD), Jeff Hallock (Longmont, CO) and Kathy Hallock O’Neal (Longmont, CO); seven grandchildren – Michael and Kristin Hallock; Heather Covert, Jacob and Josh Hallock; and Jaimie Gambon and Kacey Hallock; as well as eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; son - Jake Hallock, and grandson - Lucas Hallock; and her former husbands – Charles Hallock Jr. and Gene Cox.

At the amazing age of 97, Freida passed peacefully on October 2, 2024, under the tender care of Bloom Hospice in her residence at Brookdale Senior Living in Longmont. Freida enjoyed her time at Brookdale and always appreciated the care and companionship that the staff there provided. She loved the monthly piano concerts and never missed one. If she had been able, she would have been dancing to the wonderful music.

Per her request, there will be no service. Her family and friends will celebrate her always and know that she’s dancing, laughing and raising a glass – possibly a Manhattan, good bourbon, or champagne. Her ashes will find their way to several special places in Pennsylvania and Colorado, as well as to future vacation sites to be determined that she would surely enjoy.

Cremation is entrusted to Howe Mortuary of Longmont.
