Our beloved brother, son, and father, Carl Milton Clausen, died unexpectedly on May 12, 2024 in Brighton, CO at the age of 46 due to natural causes. Born at home on June 24, 1977 in Bridgeport, CT to Milton and Marie Clausen, his family moved to Niwot, Colorado when he was eight years old. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Clausen, his brother, Andrew Clausen, and his niece, Audrey Crall. He is survived by his father Milton Clausen; the three loves of his life, his children Addison, Colton, and Raelyn Clausen (Barb); his siblings, Jeanne Marie (Brett) Crall, Jacqueline (Shawn) Richart, Matthew Clausen, David (Jill) Clausen, Marianne Clausen; his nieces and nephews Tyler, Elise, and Jaedon Crall, Grace (Crall) Lynch, and Conner, Sage, and Zoe Richart; and his girlfriend, Kelly Thompson.
Though tough on the exterior, Carl had a gentle and loving spirit that was brought to light when he was with his children, family, and friends. Over the last several years, he developed a love for being in the country and living on a farm where he was adored by the entire Farm Family. He enjoyed his pets, cats and dogs over the years, and recently developed a fondness for horses which culminated in his acquisition of a horse named Santana. Being naturally inquisitive, Carl loved to tinker around and fix things. He was very mechanically inclined and could build almost anything. If you had a picture in your head of something you wanted to create, he could build it. And after the job was perfectly done, he would say, “not bad for a tinner!”
Driven by his passion of helping others, Carl owned his own HVAC company through which he served the local community for over twenty years. His intelligence, motivation, discipline, and strong work ethic were evident to all who knew him as he dedicated himself in earning several HVAC certifications and an associates degree. Carl would generously offer his time, tools and truck for anyone who needed help. He formed lifelong bonds with many people that he was fortunate to meet over the years.
Carl’s kind and generous spirit will be missed dearly by everyone who ever had the pleasure of getting to know him.
Please join us in celebrating and honoring Carl’s life. There will be a rosary service at Ahlberg Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 29, at 7pm. A funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont on Thursday, May 30, at 10am. Following the Mass there will be a reception at Collision Brewing Company and Restaurant from 11:30am - 3pm.
