Beverly Jean Bjerke

Beverly was born on August 24, 1929 on a farm near Parker, South Dakota to Ole and Lottie (Ostrus) Jensen. She had a step-mother, Olive Jensen, a brother, Charles Jensen, and step-brother, Lee Morris. She attended Washington High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and later at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

She was married to Gordon Bjerke in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on September 11, 1949. She raised four sons, Gregory, Dean, Jeffrey and Steven in Omaha, Nebraska, where Beverly was the Deli Manager at Baker’s Grocery from 1971, until her retirement in 1994.

An avid cat lover, Bev had a passion for football, baseball, and gardening in her stunning flowerbeds. She was a fabulous cook, especially known for her wonderful family dinners. She was a charter member of the Lutheran Church of the Master since 1958. Bev was a pillar of strength for her family, and a source of love and happiness for all who knew her.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Ole, Lottie and Olive, and her brothers Charles and Lee. She is survived by her four sons, Gregory, Dean, Jeffrey, and Steven, five grand kids and five great-grand kids.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel 326 Terry Street Longmont, CO 80501. An Inurnment Ceremony will be held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at a later date.
