On January 20, 2024, Alice Frances Snyder Allen peacefully rejoined her husband Don, daughters Sherry and Linda, and grandson James. She also joined her parents Clarence and Trulie, brother Donovan, and son-in-law Woody.
Alice resided in Boulder for over 53 years. She was born in Delta and met Don, the love of her life, when they each worked at The Country Kitchen and then discovered that they both attended Denver University.
Alice loved traveling, playing Bridge, reading, and many forms of art and music, especially the cornet she played since high school. She also loved teaching (Majestic Heights) and spending time with family at reunions and her close friends. But most of all, Alice loved her husband of over 70 years and their children, they were everything in her world.
Her passion for education led Alice to complete her Master’s degree. She further raised funds for college scholarships through Boulder chapters of University Women’s Club and American Association of University Women.
Alice leaves behind daughters Pam (Ted), Wendy (Frank) and Kelly (Charlie), and sister Bernadine. Also surviving Alice the “Granny Nanny” are grandchildren Aja (Nathan), Ash, Josie (Rod), Cody (Kevin) and Andrew (Emily), and great grandchildren Theo, Maddy, Cole, Carson, Alyvia, Grant and Charlotte, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 10:00 am on Monday July 15, 2024 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. A private interment will be at a later date at the Green Mountain Cemetery’s Columbarium.
The family is grateful for the loving care that Trail Winds Hospice provided. We also request that in lieu of flowers, please smile when remembering Alice, whether you are playing cards, traveling the world, or listening to the Canadian Brass. And teach your children the love and joy that Alice instilled in her daughters!
