Luis Quiñones was born May 16, 1941 in Corozal, Puerto Rico and died peacefully at home, in his sleep, on the early morning of July 28, 2016. To say that my father lived an amazing life is an understatement. He left Puerto Rico in his teens to begin a life in the US where he worked in construction until he retired in the late 80s. Many of us were lucky to hear about his adventures as a child in Puerto Rico and later in New York. Luis was also a fitness fanatic. He was always proud of his physique and even after he became ill he continued to go to the gym at least 3 days a week for as long as he was physically able. We will always remember him as the impressive 6'2 and 200+ pounds of muscle, kindness, and love that he was. Luis and his wife Anadelia lived a life rich with family, friends, and many wonderful travels. The two of them frequently traveled to Las Vegas, Texas, New York, and Puerto Rico, and some of their favorite memories are the trips they took to Hawaii and Costa Rica with friends. Though he made California his home, a piece of his heart remained in Puerto Rico and whenever he could he would travel back to spend time with his siblings and their families. Luis' death is preceded by that of his son Thomas Anthony Quiñones who passed in 2012. Luis is survived by his wife Anadelia Palomeque, his daughter Michele Quiñones, grandchildren Jared and Brandon Samaniego, and his siblings Aida Luz Quiñones Negrón, Héctor Manuel Quiñones Negrón, Carmen Alicia Quiñones Negrón, and María Belén Quiñones Negrón.
