John Angus MacLeod

With heavy hearts and after a courageous battle with brain cancer, we regret to announce the passing of John on June 25th at University Hospital in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Margaret, loving Father of Launda (Greg) Campbell and Stepfather to Dermot (Hunyoung) Brown, Bonnie (Peter) West. Cherished Poppy of Jason, Jon (Amanda), Julie (Tony) and Great Poppy to Katie, Gracie, Lauren, Luke and Kiera. Survived by siblings; Sinclair (Ruby), Roy (Carrie), Gordon (Ruby), William (Valerie), Lloyd, Isabel, Myrtle, Mary (Lewis). Predeceased by his parents Mary and Roderick, his siblings Melvin, Dennis, Marie and twin boys Roderick and Collie. Also predeceased by his first wife Eva and son John. John proudly served with the Cape Breton Highlanders - Royal Canadian Engineers for 37 years during which he served in both WWII and Korea. Visitation will be held on Friday June 28th 2013 from 10am – 12pm at Needham Funeral Service (520 Dundas St. London) where the funeral service will be conducted at 12pm. Cremation to follow. Internment to take place at a later date in Cape Breton Island. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada are greatly appreciated.
