Thomas H. Howard

Thomas H. Howard, age 81, of Northville, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024. Tom was born in Port Huron, MI to parents Peter Howard and Eleanor Eagen. Beloved husband of Kerry Howard for 39 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Earl Howard, and his stepson Michael Larry.

Tom attended Catholic school and played many sports through his senior year. He attended Western Michigan University where he earned a degree in Engineering. He enjoyed his 30-year career at Ford Motor Company and retired in 1999. Upon retirement, he and Kerry became “snowbirds” in Florida. He spent many of those days involved with Habitat for Humanity. He was a devoted fan of all Michigan sports teams. Tom enjoyed “hating” golf, meeting new friends, and having fun. Tom will be remembered for his sense of humor, his work ethic, and being a man of faith. He courageously fought Lewy Body dementia for the last 5 years.

Tom will be deeply missed by his 3 sons, Steve, Kevin, and Dan Howard, and his step-daughter Loretta (Jason) Ostrem.

His devoted, fun-loving siblings are Mary (Doug) Taylor, Theresa Howard c.s.j., Mike (Beth) Howard, and Bernie (Laurie) Howard.

He was the proud grandfather of Sydney Wickersham, Hayden Howard, Aubrey Howard, and Harper Howard.

He will be missed by his nieces and nephews and many friends.

A memorial gathering will be held Tuesday, October 22, from 4:00-7:30pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 Six Mile Rd, Livonia, MI 48152, with a time of remembering at 6:30pm. An in state will be held Wednesday, October 23, at 10:30am at Our Lady of Victory, 133 Orchard Dr, Northville, MI 48167, followed by a memorial mass beginning at 11:00am. Tom will be laid to rest at Rural Hill Cemetery in Northville.
