Ruth Harriet (nee Bogenschutz) Moyer was born on July 10, 1936 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Christian and Lillian (nee Frank) Bogenschutz. She was baptized into Christ and confirmed her faith at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Plymouth, Michigan.
Ruth married Donald Clare Moyer. Don and Ruth were blessed with two sons, Douglas and David. Like their mother, both attended the St. Peter’s Day School.
Don was suddenly called to heaven at the young age of 50. Ruth continued to nurture her sons with the firm foundation of her faith in the Lord. She provided for them by returning to her pre-children place of work, the National Bank of Detroit (Sheldon Road).
Ruth was a beautiful and genuinely caring person. Her many nephews and nieces describe her as their “favorite aunt”. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She is survived by her son David, son and daughter-in-law Doug and Carrie (nee Todd), grandson Dillon (and Carly) Moyer, great-granddaughters Collette and Camille, granddaughter Devon (and John) Walker, and great-granddaughters Riley, Charlie, and Kinsley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Joanne Foster. She is survived by her sister Delphine Ebersole, and her brothers Roger and David.
While she will certainly be missed by her friends and family, she is most certainly at rest in God’s eternal bliss. Our loss is heaven’s gain. We long for the day when we will be together again.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.” – John 11:25
