Marjorie (Marge) was born December 28, 1927 at New Grace Hospital to Robert and Lela Gray in Detroit, Michigan. She was baptized February 5, 1928 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church and confirmed April 6, 1941 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Detroit, Michigan by beloved and much treasured Pastor A.W. Born.
Marjorie (Marge) grew up in Detroit, Michigan with her best friend, Thelma Gooding. She attemded Crary Elementary School and then on to Cooley High School. While attending school, she met Howard Rohraff in 1942, a friend of her brothers. Marjorie graduated from Cooley High School in 1945 and married Howard Allan Rohraff that October 19th.
During their marriage, Marge had four daughters, Barbara Eileen, Shirley Ann, Vickie Lynn and Karen Diane. Marjorie was a great home-maker while raising four daughters. She taught her girls how to sing with joy and actions in toddler songs, which were mostly about Jesus. She encouraged them to keep singing and some went on into choirs and even solos. But Marge also liked to bake, clean house, shop, play Concordia church hymns via CD and also serve at Holy Cross Lutheran. She was a Sunday School teacher for ten years, and belonged to Ladies Aid Society which handled all church luncheon and activities which she enjoyed doing with a joyous heart.
When Marjorie's family was grown and married, she loved visiting her 13 Grandchildren and cherished each one making sure they all were given gifts they most liked for their birthdays and Christmas'. After her grandchildren grew-up, she was blessed with 21 great grandchildren. Marge enjoyed watching them grow and relished all their different talents.
Marjorie went peacefully to Heaven on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 surrounded by her four girls and their families. She was loved by all her family and friends and enjoyed entertaining them with her fresh cookies and cakes.
Visitation, Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 2PM-8PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Livonia. Funeral service, Monday, October 31, 2022 at 11AM (in state 10AM) also at the funeral home. Marge will be laid to rest at Glen Eden Cemetery.
