Preceding Peg in death was her beloved husband William (“Bill") Daniel McDonough, her parents, Donald and Isabelle, and her sister, Anne Wolford, companions George Muylaert and Robert Schweir.
Peg leaves behind her children: Carol (Tom McSweeney) Carpenter, Jim (Lisa Casey-McDonough) McDonough, Thomas (Susan) McDonough, and Mary McDonough. Treasured grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 9 soon to be 10. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
Born June 25, 1933, in Alliance, Ohio, Peg was the oldest daughter of Donald and Isabelle Kinsel.
Peg earned her Bachelor's degree in Applied Science from Mt. Union College. She worked as a medical technologist until her marriage in 1956. For several years, she was a stay-at-home mom until her husband died suddenly. She ran his insurance agency for a year, eventually returning to her chosen career as a medical technologist. Her career as a Medical Tech spanned many years at Annapolis and Heritage Hospital where she touched the lives of patients and colleagues.
On September 8, 1956, Peg married Bill McDonough. Together, they had four children and created a home filled with love, fun, laughter and memories. Bill died in 1972, leaving Peg with four young children to raise on her own. Peg had two additional loving companions in her life after Bill died in 1972, George Muylaert until his death and then Robert “Bob” Schweir until his death.
Peg enjoyed life. She traveled around the globe and explored new destinations. An avid ballroom dancer and golfer, Peg's spirit shone on the dance floor and fairways. Her golfing skill was evident, demonstrated in the achievement of three holes-in-one.
Throughout her life, Peg was certainly one tough lady, with both an unconquerable soul and unrivaled spirit. She enjoyed playing cards, telling jokes, sharing stories and enjoyed an active social life with family and all her friends. Her spirit and resiliency were evident to every person that knew her.
In honoring Peg's memory, let us celebrate her legacy of love, laughter, and compassion she leaves behind. May her spirit continue to inspire us to embrace each day with joy and gratitude, and may her memory be a source of comfort and strength in the days ahead.
Margaret Carole McDonough will be missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved Bill, as her legacy survives in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
