John was survived by his wife Antoinette, Daughter Margaret (Ryan), Grandsons Christian, Jackson, Chase and Brother Peter (Jane).
John was a proud alum of Regis High School in New York City. He received his Bachelors of Education from Brooklyn College. John met Antoinette while they were both teaching in Brooklyn. They both went on to attend University of Illinois where John received his PhD in Exercise Physiology. They married in 1974 (47 years).
John and Antoinette moved to Michigan in 1978 where he started and finished his career as a Professor of Exercise Science at Wayne State University.
John loved photography, dogs and golf. He was also a culinary artist, competitive gamer, a proud Master Gardener and one heck of a basketball player.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 4-8PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Livonia. Funeral service, Monday December 20, 2021 at 10AM (in state 9:30AM) also at the funeral home. if you are unable to attend the service a live stream link has been provided below.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's honor to Huron Valley Humane Society or to Washtenaw Master Gardeners.
