He and his wife, Jane (McCarty), made Redford their home. They were happily married for over 28 years. Dear father of Christopher D. Besonen (Danielle) and the late Lindsey M. Browne. Dear grandfather (Papa) of Maggie Dixon, Connor Kifer, Justin Besonen. Dear brother of Suzanne M. Sexton, Deborah J. (Steve) Burgon, the late Sharon M. Daybird, Kathleen M. Lienhard. Dear brother-in-law of the late Tim McCarty, Kathleen (Robert) Smythe, Mary (James) Peters. Dearest Uncle of too many to name. Dearest cousin and friend of too many to count.
James was preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Dorothy Browne as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Daniel and Patricia McCarty.
Jim worked for most of his life alongside his father at Detroit Temperature Engineers, a local Mechanical Contracting Firm. On weekends and in his free time he could be found out on the golf course or fishing with family and friends. He was an avid collector of old cars which he loved to work on and restore. Another joy in his life was hunting for treasures to add to his beloved antique collections. Above all else Jim loved his family and his friends and was dearly loved in return. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for James will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152 with a vigil service at 7:00 PM.
