Barbara Burgess Gibbons

Beloved wife of Jerry Gibbons. Loving mother of Paige (Steve) Futrell, Nicole (Ramzi) Radwan, Brad (Tara) Burgess, Jeff (Stephanie) Gibbons, Steven (Marina) Gibbons, and Dan (Mary) Gibbons. Cherished grandmother of Kelsey (Tyler) Burns, Andrew Futrell, Nick Futrell, Grace Futrell, Chase Burgess, Owen Burgess, Justin Gibbons, Brooke Gibbons, Carter Gibbons, Maddi Wilczewski, Megan Gibbons, and Luke Gibbons. Dear sister of Kenny (Neva) Banks. Preceded in death by her parents David and Marjorie Banks, first husband Richard Burgess and sister Pat Catullo.

Barbara dedicated her life to teaching. She was an owner of Artstart Preschool and Kindergarten in Farmington Hills and also taught in the Farmington School District for many years. Her love of music was shared through her involvement in Rosedale Gardens handbells, musicals, and choir. She also taught and played flute and piano. In her free time, she enjoyed stamping and creating cards for loved ones. In her retirement, she spent her time navigating the world with her husband Jerry. Splitting time between Arizona and Michigan, they amassed over 70,000 miles while adventuring in their coach.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 4pm-8pm at Harry J Will Funeral Home, 37000 W. Six Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan 48152. A funeral service will occur Friday, November 4, 2022 at 11am, with visitation beginning at 10am at Rosedale Gardens Presbyterian Church, 9601 Hubbard St, Livonia, MI 48150.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Dementia Society of America in memory of Barbara are appreciated.
