Linda Ruth Schoenholz, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, cherished friend, and inspirational teacher, passed away on November 16, 2024, at the age of 76 from complications related to her battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She leaves a legacy of kindness, joy, and strength that touched the lives of all who knew her.
Linda was born on June 15, 1948, in the Bronx, New York. She and her sister Alane were raised in Franklin Square, New York, by their loving parents, Lillian and Sol Mazer. She pursued a career in teaching, eventually becoming a well-loved adjunct professor at County College of Morris, where she was honored with national recognition for her teaching. Linda inspired her students to love and excel in math. She was also a beloved math instructor in the Children’s Crisis Unit at St. Claire's Hospital. Her natural gift for teaching and caring, easygoing manner made her classroom a place where students thrived. In her free time, she loved playing tennis, sunbathing, and scanning the outdoors for birds.
Linda was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Marc, with whom she shared over 52 years of love, partnership, and memories. Together, they built a life centered on family and enjoyed traveling, exploring nature, and bird-watching. Linda was a loving mother to Dena, her husband Brett, Jeff, and his wife Tami.
As a grandmother to Russell and Alivia, she poured her love into every moment, sharing laughter, stories, and boundless joy. Her grandchildren adored her, finding in her a playful, attentive, and deeply loving presence. She is predeceased by her sisters-in-law, Debbie (2024) and Linda (2022).
A funeral service to honor Linda's life will be held on November 19, 2024 at Mount Moriah. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice in her memory.
Her family would like to thank all who supported her throughout her life and during her illness, offering their love and care when it was most needed. Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
