A native of Port Arthur, TX, a former resident of Bloomfield, NJ, and a current resident of Prairieville, LA he passed away due to pneumonia at 12:13am on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was 83 years old, and retired from Faitoute Steel Company of Newark, NJ after 30 years of service. He was also a Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War. For his service, he was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He is survived by his son, Joseph Nicholas Roppolo & wife Cler Tasha (Coleman) Roppolo; niece, Francine Krawiec; nephews, Frank Russo, Richard Russo, Richard Carrione, Stephen Carrione; brother in law, Arthur Carrione; sister in law, Lucy Carrione; and one grandchild, Arianna Gale Roppolo. He is preceded in death by his wife, Celeste (Carrione) Roppolo; parents, Nicholas & Antionette Roppolo; brothers, Nicholas, Anthony & Salvadore Roppolo; and nephew, Nicholas. He graduated from Bloomfield Vocational Technical School with a diploma in carpentry, held state and post offices in The Catholic War Veterans of New Jersey, and was a former Cubmaster of Pack 28 in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
