John Formisano, 78, passed away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Born and raised in Newark, John resided in Livingston for the past 12 years. John was the former owner of Gateway Studios and later worked for Con-Rail before his retirement in 2003. He was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.
John was predeceased by his siblings, Frank, Rosie, Susan, Louie, and Tony. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Carol. He also leaves behind his son John, Jr. and his wife Christie, grandchildren Rachel and Ryan, and his brother William and sister Carmella Capko.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20 from 4-7 PM at the Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Livingston. Funeral mass will be offered on Saturday, January 21 at 10AM at St. Raphael’s Church, Livingston, with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
