John Michael Carmody

Born on October 31, 1951, John attended and graduated Leo High School in Chicago in 1969. He attended Seton Hall University in South Orange earning a degree in Criminal Justice.

He served his country well as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era.

John worked 20 years with both the Internal Revenue Service and then Seton Hall University before retiring in June, 2017.

He was the beloved husband of Katherine P. Carmody (nee VanLaar), adored father of Colleen M. Carmody, devoted son of the late Edna G. (nee Shanahan) and Edward G. Carmody, loving brother of Lawrence, Kevin, Donald and wife Kathleen, Laurie and husband Larry, Edward, Sandra and husband John, Robert, and Michelle, loving nephew of Bonnie Shanahan, cherished Godfather of Lacey Dinsmore, and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be planned at a later time in the year with information to follow.
